Headmaster's Message

Dear Parents and Friends,
If you have arrived at this web site and have read even this far, you probably intended to be here and have some interest in St. John's Episcopal School. You may be the parent of a child already enrolled in the School and trying to figure out what to expect as your child moves to the next grade level. You may be a parent considering application to the School and are seeking an overview of what we do and why we do it. Perhaps you are a person who is trying to figure out just how independent schools differ from public schools. You might even be a student trying to figure out what you were supposed to have learned over the past several years, and what you can expect to learn in the next year or two at St. John's. Whatever the source of your interest, we are glad that you are interested.
We are proud of what we do at the School and eager to give as many people as possible a sense of our character as a school. One of the things you will see as you move around our site is that we have a great deal to offer. Our intent at St. John's is to give as many opportunities for success as we can. Success in one area often leads to success in other areas. We want our students to be as successful in as many areas as they can. Plan to take some time reviewing our site. The more you see, the better sense you will have of just what a great and wonderful place the School is.
This web site will give you some insight into St. John's Episcopal School. Like other interesting places though, being there is better than seeing there. After you've looked us over on the web, please make plans to come to our campus. One of the wonderful things about the educational process is that it has people at its center. The human aspect of our work makes it more complex (and interesting) than words, charts, diagrams, or even pictures can convey. We would really like you to see us in action.
Call or write if you have questions. We enjoy talking to people about St. John's Episcopal School.
Sincerely,
James S. Lusby
