Elementary School
Who We Are
Welcome! Your interest in the Elementary School
of St. John's
Episcopal School is appreciated and encouraged. The Elementary School
offers a unique and exemplary educational experience to students in
Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. We appreciate the opportunity to
share more information with you as you consider your child's learning
needs and schooling options.
There are currently three classes at
each Elementary grade level with low student/teacher ratios for optimal
instruction. The School adheres to a philosophy, supporting the
achievement of each child's learning potential and personal, best
performance. This is achieved in an environment of care and nurture,
where the development of the total child is the basis for curricular
planning.
A strong core curriculum, utilizing the best educational
resources available, is implemented by qualified, experienced and
expertly-trained faculty and support staff (instructional aides).
Additionally, numerous enrichment classes are viewed as critical
components of a comprehensive program and are available to all
students. Children in the Elementary grades attend classes in:
technology, science, religion, Spanish, music, studio art, library, and
physical education. Enrichment teachers in all areas have received
training specific to their areas of academic responsibility and focus.
The
array of subjects allows students to investigate areas of interest,
strengthen a variety of skills, and express special talents. In all
cases, units of study across the curriculum are integrated in order to
give relevancy to the learning process.
St. John's Elementary
School is a happy and safe, child-centered, learning environment where
lifelong learning is encouraged and applauded. It is our desire to
provide a "front-row", quality education for each and every child. I am
certain that you will see this evidenced as you visit our beautiful
campus.
