Guazzo's Catering together with orderlunches.com offers a secure, fast and easy to use, online ordering solution that provides the ability to view our school lunch menu, order, prepay, and manage your student(s) lunches online.

Registration and Ordering for school year 2010/2011 will begin on 08/08/10 and end on 09/07/10.

TO GET STARTED
1. Go to www.guazzos.com and click "Click here to Order Lunches Now" and click on "register"
2. Complete Account Information and enter School Password: cardinal128
3. Enter student(s) information – and select “room/teacher/grade” from the drop down menu
4. Click “add student profile” for each student you are registering and click “finished” ONLY after all students are added
5. Login and go to “Order” to begin

MENU & ORDERING INFORMATION
The order period for "BLOCK 1" (for meals 9/8/10 to 2/11/11) is from August 8th to Sept 7th. Please read the following information carefully so your student(s) may participate in the lunch program beginning on the first day of school!

Lunch Prices
Lunches include - Entree, Fresh Fruit and Vegetables, Homemade Dressings and Beverage. Prices are $4.25 for Toddlers and PK, $5.25 for K-2nd grade and $6.25 for 3rd - 8th grade
Guazzo’s has lowered our lunch price so we can include the orderlunches processing fee for the same price you have paid for the last two years. We feel the processing cost is a good value for the convenience to our families.

Changes to Your Order
Changes can be made by emailing guazzos@cox.net and when you receive a reply the change has been made.

Children May Purchase at the Window
You may purchase daily if you wish, quantities will be limited. There will always be Grilled Cheese, Quesadilla, and Turkey Sandwich: there will be a 5 min wait to prepare the item.

Menu & Dietary Concerns
If you have any questions regarding the menu or specific dietary concerns, please contact Cheri by email: guazzos@cox.net. Please add your students name and lunch in the subject line.

Missed Lunches
Because certain ingredients are purchased in advance and menu items are cooked to order, credits cannot be given if your student misses his or her lunch due to illness or appointments made during lunch.

IOU’s/Emergency Lunches/ Dropped Lunches
Even if your student forgets his or her lunch, a meal will be provided. We cannot guarantee it will be the hot lunch served because quantities are limited, but nevertheless, a wholesome lunch will be provided. Emergency lunches are $7 each and the meal charge will automatically be added to your oderlunches.com shopping cart and will be added to your order total for the next block’s lunches. We will send weekly reminders of these balances if you would like to clear them before the next block.

Guazzo's Catering

St. John's Episcopal School offers nutritious meals prepared daily by Chef Gene and Cheri Guazzo of Guazzo's Catering. Chef Guazzo is a 1988 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, New York, and together, Gene and Cheri owned and operated a northern Italian-style restaurant in Virginia, in the early 1990's. Relocating to California seven years ago, both Cheri and Chef Gene have been in the restaurant business for over twenty-five years.

Chef Gene and Cheri are innovators in the turning of school lunch programs towards healthy dining and unprocessed foods. 

 They are the first caterers in the southern California area to be certified by the state to provide meals that have been prepared and distributed on school property. The trend, in the past, has been to build limited facilities that merely redistribute foods brought in from fast-food venues. While this has been convenient, financially, to both the learning institutions and the outside vendors, it has contributed, in part, to the early-onset of childhood obesity and diabetes. "It takes a great deal more time and labor to prepare healthy foods, safely, on campus," notes Chef Gene, "but the rewards far out-weigh the time and cost factors. Educating our youth to the proper food-groupings and in the preparation of healthy meals is essential to the learning and growth processes."

The Guazzos have carried this concept to the students of St. John's, by serving well-balanced, nutritious meals. The daily menus offer our students three entrée choices - from hamburgers and hotdogs, to homemade pasta dishes. Milk, juice, or water, and fresh fruits and vegetables are included with the lunches, and students can order a salad for a nominal price. Special meals are prepared for those students with dietary needs and restrictions as prescribed by their family physicians, and also for those who have other specific dietary needs.
