St. John's Episcopal School's Dinner Auction is Record-Breaking Success!
St. John's Episcopal School held its 16th annual Dinner Auction, Cardinella, on April 24, 2010, at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel. “Growing Strong Minds” was the theme of the evening with nearly 250 parents, faculty, and friends of St. John’s in attendance. Cardinella 2010 featured spirited silent and live auctions, opportunity drawings, dinner and dancing, and raised over $200,000 – a record breaking amount for the School’s programs.
The highly-anticipated evening was lead by event chairs, Jody Dennis of Rancho Santa Margarita and Marsi Wolder of Coto de Caza along with auction chairs Keri Doyle of Coto De Caza and Elizabeth Hall of Ladera Ranch. Silent auction bidding on over 100 beautifully-wrapped baskets with everything from sports tickets to family adventures started off the event. The excitement picked up when the live auction began after dinner. Guests bid on a VIP experience at the Staples Center, a luxurious Whistler getaway, and always the most coveted item, reserved parking spaces in front of the School.
The evening was highlighted by a moving introduction of the Parent Gift pledge by parent, Bob Dochterman. He reminded the audience of the special programs and activities that set St. John’s apart. His heartfelt presentation motivated numerous parents to contribute and helped make Cardinella 2010 a success from start to finish.
