Middle Division Welcome
Do you want to be part of the future of education?
As the first independent school in California to fully adopt a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) approach to teaching and learning, we have made great strides in nurturing students who feel valued and possess the confidence to make connections that transcend traditional disciplines. In addition to academic skills, our new advisory program—where students meet in small groups with a teacher 3-4 times per week—allows us to create an environment in which each child is known on a personal level, and feels free to express him/herself, problem-solve, and find community.
Consequently, our students think critically and creatively, are strong collaborators, excellent communicators, and feel empathy. All of these skills and more are on display in our annual STEAM Day. Click here to read more about STEAM DAY on page 2 of The Cardinal magazine. Our newest building on campus, the Johnson STEAM Center, is the latest manifestation of our community's belief that excellence never rests. This exciting addition that houses a technology center, robotics lab, and a fabrication space for STEAM projects provides a continuing commitment to ensure our students receive a world class, 21st century education.
The beneficiaries of an appropriate balance of tradition and innovation, our students graduate with a sense of self-worth, confident that they can and should make a positive difference in the lives of others. St. John's graduates are highly sought after by the very best high schools in South Orange County, where they often serve in leadership positions.
