Early Childhood Division

A Welcome Letter from our Early Childhood Division Principal

Welcome to St. John’s Early Childhood Center where we have programs serving children beginning at 8 weeks of age through Pre-Kindergarten. The Early Childhood Center sets the foundation for a long career at St. John’s Episcopal School.

In the ECC, your child will be supported by our caring faculty as they journey into the world of sharing, taking turns, listening to peers, and following instructions. Social-emotional learning is very important in these early years and we will provide them with the tools necessary to navigate new situations and experiences to become active listeners and learners.

Our knowledgeable teachers make intentional choices in their curriculum planning to introduce your children to a variety of activities that spark their curiosity. Looking at their learning through a STEAM lens allows us to offer open-ended activities where students explore, create, play, learn, problem-solve, and collaborate with their peers.

Being a part of an ECC-8th grade school allows our students to connect with the larger community and provides us with the resources of a robust independent school. The children partake in weekly Chapel, Music Together, and Fitness Fun classes, as well as visits to the Learning Commons once a week for story time.

We would love to meet you and share our magical environment, so please schedule a tour so that you can see for yourself. I look forward to meeting you soon!

Warmly,

Susie Canchola
Early Childhood Division Principal
